Areas of Practice

Pelvic Floor

.Physical Therapy can be an often underutilized option for pelvic floor issues. Many issues go untreated as people often aren’t comfortable bringing up these concerns with their health care provider. Many men and women experience incontinence issues or pain in the pelvis at some point in their lives. Each person is different, and presents with a unique combination of history, symptoms, and contributing causes to their concerns. Putting the pieces together to get a full understanding is key to a successful treatment plan. At Redhawk Physical Therapy, you get one-on-one hour treatment sessions with your therapist, Julie, to help you reach your goals.

Examples of diagnoses that we can treat and provide relief for include: pelvic organ prolapse, levator ani syndrome, abdominal/groin pain, interstitial cystitis, abdominal adhesions, pelvic pain, anal/rectal pain, postural dysfunction, constipation, pre-natal care and post partum recovery, coccyx pain, diastasis recti, symphysis pubis dysfunction, dyspareunia (painful intercourse)/vaginismus, urinary frequency, stress and frequency incontinence, endometriosis, vulvodynia, low back pain, sacroiliac dysfunction, and hip pain.

Sports & Orthopedics

Julie became board certified as an orthopedic clinical specialist in 2010 with 20 years working in the outpatient setting. She enjoys working with post-op patients as well as the challenge of solving the puzzle of a patient’s symptoms and developing a well-rounded treatment plan that can include manual therapy, specific exercise interventions for strength, flexibility, balance, gait and posture training, and patient education with the goal of returning you to the activities you love.

Gait, balance, vestibular rehab

Dizziness and imbalance can be debilitating and sometimes embarrassing. Physical therapy can be very effective at significantly improving or eliminating dizziness by addressing the underlying vestibular disorder, such as BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo). Other times, there is damage to the underlying balance systems. With a thorough evaluation, we can create a specific treatment and exercise plan such as habituation and/or adaptation exercises to teach the brain, body, and vestibular system to compensate, therefore significantly reducing dizziness and getting you back on track with your chosen activities.
